Threads of Destiny

Have you ever pondered the beauty of having someone worth taking risks for? "Magkalayo man ang ating mundo, tataya pa rin sa 'yo," goes a line from Cup of Joe's song, "Tataya." Distance may separate people, but the willingness to take risks for them remains. These lyrics resonate with me because I've finally found someone I'm willing to risk it all for.

Sure, it's great to have someone you're willing to take risks for. That special person adds excitement and courage to love. Stepping into unknown areas together makes your connection stronger. This Valentine's Month, remember that love sometimes means facing new things together and finding joy in taking chances with someone who matters a lot to you.

I used to believe that Valentine's month was exclusively about romantic love, given the sweetness I witnessed between my parents and other couples. However, as I've matured, I've come to understand that Valentine's Month isn't solely about couples. It's a time to express gratitude and affection for friends and family as well. It's not limited to romantic love, it can take various forms, whether it's the love between friends or any other heartfelt connection. Valentine's Month celebrates all kinds of love, emphasizing that expressing care and appreciation extends beyond romantic relationships.

I had a great time during our celebration last February 14. My classmates and I decided to show appreciation to our teachers in a unique way by serenading them with songs like "Isem" and "Nagguapo kan manong." Initially, I found it a bit cringe-worthy, but upon reflection at home, I recognized it as a genuine expression of love. Serenading our teachers, coupled with the thoughtful gesture of flowers and chocolates, became a heartfelt way to convey our gratitude. It made me realize that love takes various forms, and our celebration was a beautiful example of expressing care and appreciation for those who play significant roles in our lives.

As we go through the month of love, let's think more about what love really is. It's not just about romance; it's also about the different connections that make our lives better. Whether it's the brave love that goes beyond distance, the strong ties with friends and family, or showing thanks with songs and kind actions, Valentine's month is about celebrating all the different ways we can love.
